About Me

Hi, I’m Amy!

I’m so happy to welcome you to A.P. Pilates, where I combine my  healthcare experience with my passion for Pilates to help you achieve your fitness and wellbeing goals. With over 17 years of experience in patient care as a Nurse, Midwife, and Health Visitor, my aim is to offer a holistic approach to Pilates, ensuring clients feel supported emotionally as well as physically.

My Pilates Journey

I discovered Pilates at a time when I was looking to improve my own health and wellbeing. The physical and mental benefits were undeniable, and I knew I wanted to share this transformative practice with others. I’ve since trained as a CIMPSA-registered Mat Pilates Instructor, specialising in antenatal and postnatal Pilates. My journey is ongoing, as I continue to study through the APPI to deepen my expertise in women’s health.

When I’m not teaching Pilates, I’m a busy mum who loves spending time with my family, exploring the outdoors, and continuing to learn. I’m dedicated to professional growth and plan to expand my services to include one-to-one assessments and personalised programmes in the future.

My Qualifications and Expertise

My background in healthcare provides a solid foundation for my work as a Pilates instructor.

Here are some of my qualifications:

  • BSc (Hons) Midwifery Studies
  • Diploma (HE) Nursing Studies
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing

These credentials, combined with my Pilates training, ensure that every session is not only effective but also safe and supportive.

My fitness qualifications are:

  • Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Instructing Pilates Matwork
  • Active IQ Level 3 Award in Supporting Pre and Postnatal Clients with Exercise and Nutrition.

I believe Pilates is for everyone, regardless of age, fitness level, or life stage. My goal is to create a welcoming space where you can focus on your health, connect with your body, and leave every session feeling stronger and more at ease. I’m especially passionate about supporting women through pregnancy and postpartum recovery, helping them regain their confidence and strength.
